"Dani Filth is the frontman of one of the biggest metal bands in the world. Over nearly two decades and eight epic albums with Cradle of Filth, he's established himself as both a metal legend and an expert on gothic horror.

Since forming Cradle in the early 90's, Dani has played to huge crowds at Ozzfest and the Download Festival and starred in a horror film called Cradle of Fear. There's been some controversy along the way. For instance, the band's notorious "Jesus is a Cunt" t-shirt didn't go down well in certain areas of society. Although Cradle of Filth don't make it their mission to offend, someone -- usually parents -- will always find a way to get upset over the fascination with the darker side of human nature that's reflected in their songs."

GODSPEED ON THE DEVIL DOWN UNDER!

Awaken from thy nightmarish faerytale and prepare for the violation of thy soul as the Lords of all the metal-goth-vampire disciples, the inimitable Cradle of Filth, descend upon Australian soil in 2009. Just Say Rock Productions, in bloodied unison with Roadrunner Records Australia, proudly presents Cradle of Filth's, Godspeed on the Devil Down Under tour in May 2009.

Conspicuously missing since 2000's Midian tour, the metal innovators from Suffolk, England will deliver their full theatrical show to Australian audiences who have been kept waiting in the depths of murky darkness for ‘ages'.

And of course, controversy was always trailing not too far behind. The now infamous and highly sought after "Jesus is a C**t" t-shirt had fans worldwide (even hitting home, in Brisbane) fined and arrested for wearing it in public.

In October 2008, Cradle of Filth unleashed their 8^th album, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder (through Roadrunner). The album is a dark, chilling account of the hellish life of Gilles De Rais, a 15^th century French nobleman turned murderer and Satanist.

Cradle of Filth's lavish musical arrangements and uncompromising persona are equally matched by a thrilling and dramatic live show. This is one date with the devil that you don't want to miss. You'll be damned if you do...and if you don't.

CRADLE OF FILTH ANNOUNCE GROUNDBREAKING VIRTUAL VINYL

Cradle of Filth's latest album, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder, hailed by Metal Maniacs as "some of the heaviest music ever to spawn forth from their blackened souls," landed in stores recently and notched the number 48 slot on the Billboard Top 200 chart, the highest chart debut in their storied career.

The band will start 2009 off with a bang, as well, spreading their black metal seed across the U.S. in January, when they return for a headline tour with Satyricon and Septic Flesh in tow.

Additionally, the band invites fans to remember the good old days of vinyl, when you'd listen to a new album released by one of your metal heroes while spending countless hours leafing through the gatefold sleeve, enjoying the artwork and pouring through the lyrics while immersing yourself in the whole album experience. Ahh, memories! Maybe you are too young to have had such an experience. Perhaps not. Regardless, take our word for it: that was how an album was meant to be enjoyed. Nowadays, releases with many sonic layers are referred to as "headphone records," while during the vinyl days, headphones weren't quite so necessary in order to pick up the nuances of sound.

While the onset of digital music and the changing ways in which consumers interact with musical products has made such an engagement more difficult, the always forward-thinking black metal masters Cradle of Filth have come up with an ingenious way to replicate some of that lost magic via 'Virtual Vinyl,' which enhances the listening experience through better visuals, access to lyrics (if you can find the embedded Easter Eggs) and has a unique way of capturing the macabre, menacing essence of their latest wickedly delightful effort, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder. The 'Virtual Vinyl' also allows the album's stunning, bold and uniquely Cradle'esque artwork to take center stage, as well.
