Ultimate Guitar Interview Herman Li

Robert Gray from the Hit the Lights blog over at Ultimate-Guitar.com interviewed DragonForce's Herman Li the other day. It's a literal transcription of the conversation, so you get a hint of Herman on the phone as well as info on in-ear monitors, the next album, and the future direction of the band.

DRAGONFORCE FALL 2009 TOUR

New York, NY: DragonForce will be back to administer another ‘Ultra Beatdown’ upon American venues. The band will embark on a month-long, headlining tour this Fall, which kicks off on September 18 in Hollywood and runs through October 11 in Philadelphia. This will probably be the band’s final US tour in support of their most recent album, Ultra Beatdown.

Sonata Arctica, as well as DragonForce labelmates Taking Dawn, will serve as support. The band’s latest power-riff fueled opus, Ultra Beatdown, was unleashed upon the world last August and the momentum around the band is still going strong.

Critical praise was heaped upon the record when it was released. Here’s what critics had to say about Ultra Beatdown.

DragonForce are delighted to announce the re-scheduled shows for Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia which were postponed due to travel restrictions imposed as a consequence of the Swine Flu crisis. Tickets purchased for the original dates are valid for the re-scheduled shows. Work is ongoing to re-schedule the Mexico shows.

Guitarist Herman Li stated simply “I told you we would be coming, see you all there!”

I was really surprised on how well they did.
I've seen video's of them on Youtube, I wasn't entirely impressed, but actually being there live, they were REALLY good... except for the fact that I couldn't hear for a few days :D ...but thats normal for almost any rock concert.
But overall, they blew me away with how well they performed :)

John, do you know how many derivative works there are of The Bible? On television right now is a show called Kings based upon the Book of Daniel (NBC, Saturdays at 8PM, or at Hulu.com). Now, Nickelback are great, but if you can derive a story from The Bible I think you're okay basing a story off of the "Savin' Me" video.
