NEW SITE CHANGES!

You may have noticed that over the past few months quiet changes have been made to the site. First we gave you new artist pages. Check out your favorite and you'll find widgets, videos, music, and much more. Plus they look great.

A few weeks back we also updated our Artists page. You'll see highlighted artists up top in blue. These change as artists are updated with news, video, and music. This is a great page to make your first port-of-call after the news section!

Today we've relaunched three other pages. Music and Video are all new. You can now embed all of our music and video posted to the site in your blog, web site, or MySpace/Facebook profiles. At the right of these pages you'll see charts driven by what YOU do on our site. You can also leave comments at all songs and videos, rate them, and favorite them in our new profile system (more on that in a sec).

The Releases page has gotten a huge makeover. Every album now has its own home page where you can see the available tracks, rate it, leave a review, or comment on others' reviews. Snazzy huh?

Finally, we just launched our new profile pages. If you're a subscriber to our email newsletters, you can log in, add your own picture, keep track of the latest updates on our site (and partner sites), follow your favorite videos and music, and tell us what bands you want to hear about.

Of course, many of these new features require that you be a member of the site to use them, so please join today!

Cavalera Conspiracy - Reviewed!

Mycitybuzz.com put the band in the "Artist Spotlight" and features a review of the bands debut album, Inflikted.

"The tracks on Inflikted are not a latter-era Sepultura retread, which the fans would wag their tongues for. The tracks, such as “Sanctuary” and “Black Ark” are more punk-rock infused in their delivery. It looks like the guys have taken some of their earlier influences in this latest record. But don’t think that the new record totally abandons the Sepultura sound. Songs like “Ultra-Violent” and “Hearts of Darkness” keep the old sound alive. But with bassist Joe Duplantier and Soulfly guitarist Mark Rizzo, the band mix the old with the new to create something fresh."

Extreme metal webzine Apeshit.org talked to Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy singer Max Cavalera about things such as what it was like to rehearse with his brother Iggor again together for the first time in years, the formation of Cavalera Conspiracy, writing riffs, jamming in the studio, Joe Duplantier from Gorjira joining the band, the video for "Sanctuary", and much more.

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY ANNOUNCE FIRST TOUR!

For the first time since 1996, brothers and metal co-conspirators Max and Iggor Cavalera are hitting the road. The duo will tour together as The Cavalera Conspiracy this summer.

The Cavalera Conspiracy is the brothers' first collaboration since Max exited the legendary Sepultura over a decade ago. The summer dates, which begin in mid-July and find the band hitting several US and Canadian markets, support their Roadrunner Records debut, Inflikted, which came out in March to much fanfare. Selling over 9,000 copies its first week, the album was lauded by the press, with Max and Iggor appearing on the cover of Metal Edge.

The Cavalera Conspiracy will headline the tour, with heavy hitters Dillinger Escape Plan, Throwdown, Bury Your Dead and Incite as support acts, elevating the tour to "can't miss" status in addition to making this one of the most brutastic tours of the summer.

Max and Iggor Cavalera started their musical journey with Sepultura, breaking down barriers and opening the doors for metal in their native Brazil. The pair has long been considered torchbearers for aggressive music. And yes, Iggor has changed the spelling of his name and added a second "g." That's not a typo.

"Even the raw punk influence of Max's short-lived Nailbomb project heard on "Hex" and "Bloodbrawl" wouldn't be out of place on a Soulfly record.
